Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech in Lok Sabha during the Operation Sindoor debate, saying that no one can defeat the BJP in words.

Speaking to the media, Yadav, signalling to China, claimed that the BJP cannot see the bigger threat standing behind Pakistan, which is snatching away India's markets and encroaching on its borders.

"BJP ko baaton mein koi nahi hara sakta. If the BJP doesn't see a threat standing behind Pakistan, then who can show them that? A country that is snatching away our market, which is encroaching on our borders...BJP should at least tell us if India's area has increased or decreased between 2014 and today. All of us want our borders to be peaceful and secure," the Samajwadi Party Chief said.

Akhilesh Yadav noted that India has become a trading country and targeted the government over its claims of being self-reliant.

"But they are not concerned about the country that poses the biggest threat...We talk of aatmanirbhar, that the country should be self-reliant, that the manufacturing sector should expand, but we have become a trader country," he said.

Responding to PM Modi's "thok do" remark, Akhilesh Yadav stressed that this policy will work in Uttar Pradesh but not in the Parliament.

"Thok do' policy was in effect in Uttar Pradesh. This is not the policy of the Lok Sabha. What should I understand from this? What happens in UP will happen now...If terrorists have been killed, there has been an Intelligence failure once again. Will the Govt tell us how are terrorists coming to India again and again? Who will answer that? Who will take responsibility for that?... Did the Rafale take off or not?...", Akhilesh Yadav said.

Meanwhile, reacting to PM Modi's statement that no world leader stopped India from continuing its operation against Pakistan, Congress MP K Suresh termed it a wrong remark and said that the opposition doesn't believe it.

"We do not believe that. His statement is absolutely wrong. We are not believing that. The entire Opposition is not believing that statement. The statement is not correct," K Suresh told ANI.

Congress MP KC Venugopal launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi following his speech in Lok Sabha during the Operation Sindoor discussion, questioning his silence on US President Donald Trump's repeated claims of brokering peace between India and Pakistan.

The Congress leader asked why PM Modi is afraid to discuss US President Donald Trump.

"We are asking very clearly whether Trump's claim is bogus or not, whether he is telling truth or not. No answer...Why is he scared of talking about Trump? He has to say that what Trump is saying is not the truth...When genuine questions are asked by the Opposition, he hides behind Pakistan story. People know about that. We are the people fighting against Pakistan, we are for India...", Venugopal told ANI.

Earlier today, while speaking in the Lok Sabha during Operation Sindoor discussion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the India Armed Forces avenged the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in 22 minutes with its Operation Sindoor by destroying terror launch pads in "different corners of Pakistan."

The Prime Minister described the ongoing Parliament session as a "Vijay Utsav" (victory celebration), celebrating India's military strength and national unity after the success of the armed forces.

He said that the Indian armed forces were given a free hand to take their own decisions when the conflict with Pakistan escalated in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor on May 7.

"Right after the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan had this idea that India would indeed take major action and started making nuclear threats. On the intervening night of 6-7 May, India took action just as decided. Pakistan could not do anything. Our armed forces avenged 22nd April within 22 minutes with precision attacks ... We destroyed terrorist camps in different corners of Pakistan," the Prime Minister said.
