Mishi Khan has strongly reacted to a viral video showing an assistant professor humiliating a student in a public university. The incident reportedly took place at COMSATS University Lahore, where Assistant Professor Dr. Tayyab Chaudhry allegedly ridiculed a student in front of the entire class for not having a laptop.

The video, which has rapidly circulated on social media, shows Dr. Tayyab publicly embarrassing the student, which has drawn widespread condemnation from social media users who called the professor’s behavior unethical and inappropriate for an educational environment. Fellow students revealed that the professor even forced the student to call his brother over loudspeaker in front of the whole class and insulted him as well.

The affected student reportedly suffered mental distress due to the incident, leading many students and activists to call for a review of teachers’ behavior in educational institutions. Despite the uproar, the university administration has yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter.

Mishi Khan took to Instagram to express her disappointment over the incident. She criticized Dr. Tayyab Chaudhry harshly, questioning how many other students have endured humiliation at the hands of such a “so-called” professor. She noted that Dr. Tayyab has been working at the university since 2015 and publicly shamed the student in front of 50 to 60 classmates simply because he did not have a laptop.

Mishi further read out the exchange between the professor and the student, revealing that the student’s father had passed away the previous year. Despite this, the professor mocked the student, asking if there was anyone else earning in the family, sarcastically questioning whether the student’s brother was also deceased.

According to Mishi, the professor then told other students to collect charity money (zakat) to buy a laptop for the student, which she called humiliating and inappropriate.

Expressing her outrage, Mishi Khan questioned the state of the country’s education system, saying, “This person, who is a stain on education, publicly humiliated an orphaned child in front of the whole class. What kind of educational system is this?”

Her comments have resonated widely, sparking calls for accountability and reforms in the treatment of students within academic institutions.
