Ingredients
- Rice flour – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 finely chopped
- Green chilli – 1 to 2, finely chopped
- Fresh coconut – 2 tbsp grated
- Green coriander – 2 tablespoons
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – as per taste
- Water – as required
- Oil – for frying
How to make Akki Roti – Know the Step by Step Recipe
step 1:
First of all, take rice flour in a bowl and add onion, green chili, coconut, coriander leaves, cumin seeds and salt to it.
Step 2:
Now add water little by little and knead the dough. Keep in mind that the dough should neither be too hard nor too thin.
Step 3:
Now take a clean banana leaf and grease it with oil.
Step 4:
Now take some dough on this banana leaf and pat it with your hand to make a round roti. But do not make it too thin.
Step 5:
Now heat the pan and apply some oil on it and place the banana leaf on the pan like a roti. After this, remove the banana leaf from above.
Step 6:
Now roast the akki on low flame from both the sides till it becomes light golden and crispy.
Step 7:
Now your famous Karnataka Akki Roti is ready. Now make the rest of the rotis in the same way and serve it hot.
Serving Tips
- You can eat it with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, or ghee and jaggery.
- If you want, you can also serve it with sambar or kadhi.
- You can also add grated beetroot and carrot to it.
