Whatsapp Accounts Ban: Taking a major step towards monitoring and preventing misuse of digital platforms in India, WhatsApp has taken action on more than 98 lakh accounts in the month of June 2025. This information has been revealed in the latest India monthly report of WhatsApp. Of these, about 19.79 lakh accounts were banned by WhatsApp proactively before the complaint of any user.
WhatsApp has taken this step with the aim of misuse, misuse, and preventing harmful activities on its platform. Along with this, the company also took action on complaints received from users in which some accounts were restored and some were permanently blocked.
Action is also taken on users’ complaints
WhatsApp received a total of 23,596 complaints from India in June, out of which action was taken on 1,001 accounts. These actions were banned as well as restoring the already banned accounts after reviewing.
Most of these complaints came under the category of ban appeal, whose number was 16,069. Of these, WhatsApp took action on 756 accounts. Other categories included problems to account support, product support and security.

The company says that its main objective is prevention because preventing any activity is more effective than catching later.
WhatsApp is committed to user safety
WhatsApp reiterated that it is fully committed to the safety of users. For this, he resorts to end-to-end encryption, safety tools, and dedicated teams to deal with misinformation, misuse and safety threats on the platform.
At the same time, the company also stated that it works with experts to promote cyber security and maintain elections.
WhatsApp introduced two new features
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has launched two new tools status adds and promoted channels for its business users. According to WABETAINFO report, these features are currently available to select Android beta users.
The format of the status ads is like Instagram Story Ads. Now you can post business accounts paid content, which will appear with a sponsored label between the status updates of users, so that people can know that it is an advertisement.
