Whatsapp fake account remove: Instant messaging app WhatsApp Has taken another strong step to keep its users safe. The company is now rolling out new security facilities to protect its platforms from scammers and fake accounts. The purpose of these features is to give users fraud and spam.

Alert will be available from unknown groups

According to WABETAINFO’s report, if a user is added to a WhatsApp group that is created by an unknown person (which is not in the user’s contact list), the app will show a “safety overview screen”.

Users will get this information on this screen:

• Who added you to the group?
• Is that person in your contacts?
• The rest of the group members are in your phonebook or not?

Till the time the user himself decides whether to stay in the group, all the notifications of that group will be muted. This will prevent fishing attachments and spam.

Warning message will also be received on chat of unknown people

Whatsapp has also noted that scammers often contact users on other social media platforms and then bring them to scam by bringing them to Whatsapp. A new safety alert feature test is now being done to stop this.

If a user starts chatting with an unknown person, Whatsapp will show a pop-up alert. This alert will have the necessary information to that person, so that the user can start negotiating carefully.

Action on 6.8 million fake accounts

Whatsapp has recently informed that it has removed more than 6.8 million scams and fake accounts. This shows that the company is now taking strict action against the fraudsters.

Whatsapp has also clarified that, “End-to-end encryption and user privacy will remain as before, but we will continue to improve to further strengthen the safety of the user.”
