It is not every day that we come across a child actor from the 70s era who literally changed the trajectory of his life and hit fame almost 4 decades later. Alankar Joshi, who is also fondly known as Master Alankar captivated the Indian audience with a brilliant portrayal of a young Amitabh Bachchan in the iconic films ‘Deewar’, ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ and ‘Majboor’. It is safe to presume that he was an established child actor of that era.

However, as Alankar grew up, he realised this fame was not following him into adulthood. He tried to shift gears and ventured into Marathi cinema briefly, before opting to change his career altogether. He relocated to the US and studied software programming and eventually found his own tech firm. As per a TOI report, Alankar now has a staggering net worth of over Rs 200 crores. His daughter, Anuja Joshi is pursuing a career in Hollywood now.

Alankar has a Bollywood connection with his sister Pallavi Joshi being a famous name here. In a recent interview with Friday Talkies, she spoke about his journey. “For Deewar, my brother was called and hum Yash ji se milne gaye the (we went to meet him). I had also tagged along, I have a blurry memory of it when we went to meet on the set. The shooting had already started and Amit ji saw dada and said, ‘Arey, kaise ho?’ Then, he told Yash ji that give him my childhood version to play. Finally, dada was cast in Deewar and he played the younger Vijay,” she exclaimed.
