Pantai Merah, or Pink Beach, in Indonesia was voted the world’s most beautiful beach this year, according to Forbes which cited a survey of British adventure travel company Explore Worldwide.

Blushed with crushed coral and microscopic Foraminifera, Pink Beach on Komodo Island, nestled between Sumbawa and Flores, offers stretches of rosé-hued sands where reef fish flicker and sea stars cling to coral gardens, Forbes wrote.

With pristine waters and rich marine biodiversity, it is an ideal destination for snorkeling.

The best time to visit is from May to October, offering the most sunny days, while the rest of the year typically brings the rainy season.

The list was chosen from recommendations across its global network of expert guides.

Le Morne in Mauritius ranked second, followed by Bulders Beach in South Africa.
