According to RBI (Reserve Bank of India), banks will remain closed across the country on August 15. According to the Holiday Calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed due to Parsi New Year (Shahshahi) and Janmashtami along with Independence Day celebrations on August 15. Apart from this, banks will remain closed in many states due to Janmashtami’s regional holiday on August 16, while Sunday is a weekly holiday. In such a situation, the banks will be closed for three consecutive days.

Banks are usually closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month as well as all Sundays, besides national and state level holidays. However, only branches remain closed during the bank holidays, so that customers can use digital banking mediums for transactions.

Online services will remain on

Despite the bank holidays, ATMs, UPI payments, internet banking and other online facilities will continue to work without any hindrance. August 19: Public holiday in Tripura on the occasion of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur’s birthday.
August 23: Fourth Saturday holiday in all banks.
25 August: The Tirusha date of Shrimant Shankardev will be celebrated in Assam.
27 August: Ganesh Chaturthi holiday in Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Odisha and Tamil Nadu.
August 28: Ganesh Chaturthi (second day)/Holiday in Odisha and Goa due to Nuakhai.
17, 24, 31 August: Holiday due to Sunday.
