Ingredients:
For the gatte (dumplings):
For the curry:

2 tsp ghee

½ tsp asafoetida (hing)

1 tsp cumin seeds

2 Whole Red Chilies
-
1 cup finly chopped onion
-
2 finly chopped green chilies
-
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
-
½ tsp coriander powder
-
1 cup whisked yogurt
-
Fresh Coriander for Garnish
Instructions:

Prepare the gatte:

In a bowl, mix beesan, turmeric, red chili powder, carom seeds, ghee and salt

Add yogurt and knead into firm dough (Add water if needed)

Roll Into Cylindrical Shapes (About ½ Inch Thick)

Cook the gatte:

Boil water in a pan and gently add the gatte
-
Cook for 8-10 Minutes Until they Float to the Surface

Remove, Cool and Cut INTO 1-Inch Pieces

Make the curry:

Heat Ghee in A Kadhai, Add Cumin, Asafoetida and Whole Red Chilies

Sauté onions Until Golden Brown

Add green chilies and ginger-garlic paste, cook for 1 minute

Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt

Reduce heat and slowly add whisked yogurt while stirring continuously

Final Assembly:

Add the gatte pieces and simmer for 5 minutes

Garnish with fresh coriander

Serve hot with bajra roti or steamed rice
