Easy process to activate fastag
Fastag is very easy to activate. Whether you have bought it from a bank, online platform or toll plaza, you can activate it in a pinch by following these steps.
First of all, make sure that you have Fastag stickers and a registration document associated with it. If you have taken it from the bank, you will get a QR code or barcode, which you have to scan. Next, you have to link your Fastag to your bank account or digital wallet.
Step by-step guide
- Download Fastag App: Download the My Fastag app in your smartphone. This app is available at Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
- Register: Open the app and register with your mobile number. If your fastag is already registered, login.
- Put vehicle information: Enter your vehicle registration number, chassis number or ID number of Fastag. This information will be found in your Fastag document.
- Link account: Link your bank account, UPI or digital wallet (eg Paytm, Google Pay) to Fastag.
- Recharge balance: Recharge a minimum balance to activate Fastag. In most banks, this amount starts from Rs 100-200.
- Verification: After recharge, your fastag will be activated in 24-48 hours. You will get confirmation through SMS or email.
Some important tips
After activating Fastag, stick it correctly on your car’s windscreen. Note that this sticker is clean and without scratches. If your fastag is not working, contact your bank or Fastag provider’s customer care immediately.
