There is a pretty, secluded beach in the UK that Brits seeking a relaxing break can't ignore this summer. The gorgeous spot offers picturesque views ranging from coastal cliffs to spectacular waterfalls, minus the crowds that tourists and day-trippers will find at more famous sites.
Heddon's Mouth is a scenic beach located on the rugged North Devon Coast between Coombe Martin and Lynton. As the name suggests, the cove sits at the mouth of the River Heddon, which is surrounded by an entirely pebbled coast made up of medium-sized round rocks. The entire area is just 300 metres wide, and its location off the beaten path leaves visitors charmed by its quietness.
One person who visited the beach described it on Google Reviews as a "lovely place".
Another wrote: "A beautiful hour-long hike to a hidden beach with stunning views-definitely worth it! There's a convenient parking lot at the start."
A third, speaking about the walk visitors need to tackle before reaching the shore, said: "This was a really lovely walk down to the beach."
Similarly, a fourth added: "Wonderful short walk to the sea with spectacular cliffs and rocky shoreline. The path is well-maintained. The stones can be uneven and rocky in places."
If you want to spend your holiday doing something active, then this is the right place. Heddon's Mouth Beach is ideal for hiking enthusiasts, being just seven miles from the heart of Exmoor National Park.

The park provides a tranquil atmosphere with its scenic and hilly views throughout, including multiple hiking trails which vary in length, with visitors being able to use a free digital map of the park when embarking on their adventure.
The park also has some of the darkest skies in the UK, providing perfect conditions for stargazing. On a cloudless night, you are able to see thousands of stars, including the Milky Way.
However, if you're searching for things to do in town, beautiful Lynton is your closest and best bet. Being just under a 20-minute drive from both Heddon's Mouth and Exmoor National Park, or a 6.5-mile walk from the beach, the town is home to a variety of independent and local businesses ranging from boutiques to art galleries showcasing local talent. You can also stop off at the unique Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway, one of the steepest steam-operated trains, which connects the two towns.
