What happens
Excessive screen time now leads to problems such as mood swings in young children, late talking, sleeping problems and farming from society. Entertainment that looks harmless as the child is growing can be a matter of concern. According to the World Health Organization, keeping the screen completely for children under the age of 5 and the screenplay of children in the age group of 3-5 should not be more than 2 hours a day.

According to various studies, young children who spend more than one or two hours a day in front of the screen may face the following:
- Delayed language skills: If the screen time increases, the conversation of the real world decreases, the vocabulary and speech development slow down. The child may have difficulty in keeping conversations
- Irritability and anger: Children may become more irritated or frustrated when the screen time is over, which can cause constant mood swing and aggression in nature
- Disruption to sleep: It is known that the blue light coming from the screen affects the level of melatonin, which makes it difficult for young children to sleep and deep sleep. So they always make irritation
- Decline : Not to focus on actions such as reading or playing. Start doing other actions such as reading a thing, jungle or poetry to engage in children
- Decrease in society Oral interaction is diminishing due to excessive screentime. The child always starts spending time on the phone and avoids interacting with others

Many parents do not know that there are symptoms such as constant unhealthy, sleeplessness or irritation after screen timers. Since the screen is used to calm or appreciate children, children often prefer to rely on a digital device.
Tips to manage screen time in young children:
- Limit Screen Time: An hour -long screen time is sufficient for young children. Avoid using screens by parents in bedrooms, dining tables and family times
- Parents should play academics with their children rather than scroll reel
- Play outdoor games with children on holidays. Perform such actions such as dance, music, gardening, painting and solving puzzles with children
- Parents need to limit their screen use around their child. Doing so will allow you to establish good relationships with a child
- Encourage the child to interact with others. Reducing the use of the screen and improving children’s quality of life is the need of the hour and the role of parents is important.
