Four Arsenal transfers Andrea Berta could complete this week as Mikel Arteta eyes £57m boost

Andrea Berta will be hoping to complete an Arsenal transfer first over the coming days in order to hand Mikel Arteta a needed boost. The Gunners boss will likely already be in a relatively good mood at least after his side began their Premier League campaign with a victory over Manchester United on Sunday.

Riccardo Calafiori scored the only goal of the game and though a clean sheet was secured at Old Trafford, the performance was far from perfect with Arteta offering his thoughts on what was a disjointed attacking display.

"I think there are seven or eight situations when the ball is completely open to play through and we are on," he admitted during his post-match press conference. "And we are attacking the keeper. And we give that ball away and then it becomes a basketball game.

"And a basketball game against a team that is extremely, extremely good at finishing action with the quality that they have. That's a very difficult thing to do. That's why I talk about the reaction to that. Because if you don't react in relation to that mistake, quick enough, sharp enough, you're in big problems."

A third attacking addition this summer may help matters, but Arsenal are in a position where sealing exits is the priority. Fabio Vieira appears to be the only fringe player in active talks to move elsewhere with Bundesliga club Stuttgart keen to sign him permanently.

However, that deal is being held up due to the two parties' very different valuations as Arsenal want £25million to sell while Stuttgart are only willing to pay £17million plus add-ons and could move onto different targets if the Gunners' financial demands remain the same, according to Jordan Davies of The Sun.

football.london understands that talks are continuing, but Arsenal in a weak position with interest not forthcoming and the pressure to move players on soon. They have also found difficulty selling Reiss Nelson, largely due to his recent injury issues, but Fulham are interested in re-signing him on loan with talks already held.

There appears to be a number of moving parts impacting the deal which includes Fulham's active attempts to sign Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin and Rodrigo Muniz's expected switch to Atalanta.

However, if those two moves go through, Nelson's own switch to Craven Cottage could advance and be done by the end of the week.

Leandro Trossard's potential exit is another that may hinge on two other transfers and one of those was confirmed over the weekend. Aston Villa have made enquiries for the Belgium international as they likely search for Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey replacements.

The former has officially joined Newcastle United while AS Roma look to be in advanced talks for Bailey. Following a disjointed attacking display against the Magpies, Unai Emery may be keen to bring Trossard, who Arsenal value at £20million, in as soon as possible.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is another that is expected to be moved on this summer especially as his contract expires in 2026. Fenerbahce have explored a deal for the Ukraine international and it is being reported in Turkiye that a move will be facilitated if their £13million asking price is met.

A seventh new arrival before September 1 is possible but it seems more likely that would be sanctioned just before deadline day even with those four aforementioned exits going through this week.
