
Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan marked the Bollywood debut of Telugu superstar Jr NTR.
Unfortunately for Jr NTR, the spy action entertainer failed to impress the audiences and crashed at the box office over its 4-day extended opening weekend earning just Rs 200 crore in India.
It is now expected to end its run barely touching Rs 300 crore worldwide and is heading towards being a massive box office flop.

Before Jr NTR, Telugu stars like Prabhas, Ram Charan and Vijay Deverakonda also tried to take over Hindi box office but failed miserably.

The mythological epic was directed by Om Raut of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior fame and was produced by T-Series.
• Ram Charan in Zanjeer (2013) © Prakash Mehra Productions
Early in his career, Ram Charan tried to make a mark in Hindi cinema with Amitabh Bachchan’s Zanjeer remake. The Apoorva Lakhia directorial box office bomb also starred Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt.

The film directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar was a major critical and commercial misfire.

The horror film was directed by Ram Gopal Varma and produced by UTV Motion Pictures. It was an outright box office failure.
• Rana Daggubati in Dum Maaro Dum (2011) © Ramesh Sippy Films
The mystery action thriller also starred Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu and was directed by Rohan Sippy. It was produced by Sholay director Ramesh Sippy and featured popular songs.
• Bellamkonda Sreenivas in Chatrapathi (2023 film) © Pen Movies
An official Hindi remake of SS Rajamouli’s 2005 Telugu film of the same name starring Prabhas, Chatrapathi was dead on arrival. It was directed by V. V. Vinayak and produced by Jayantilal Gada.
Besides the aforementioned Telugu stars, Naga Chaitanya also made his Hindi debut with Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha which was a box office disaster. But, it was more of a special appearance.
