Vice presidential polls: The NDA has nominated its CP Radhakrishnan for the Vice Presidential election. The NDA has an absolute majority in the electoral college (joining members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha). In such a situation, Radhakrishnan is considered to win. If the opposition India alliance also announces its candidate, then the election will be held on 9 September. Meanwhile, the name of the possible candidate of the opposition has been revealed.

According to media reports, the opposition India alliance may field Rajya Sabha MP Tiruchi Shiva in front of NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan in the Vice Presidential election. Tiruchi Shiva also comes from Tamil Nadu. In such a situation, this fight can be of Tamil vs Tamil. In addition, assembly elections are going to be held in Tamil Nadu next year. Keeping this in mind, the opposition is preparing to make Tiruchi Shiva candidate. It is believed that the NDA has declared Radhakrishnan as the candidate in view of the Tamil Nadu elections.
