Death of Achyut Potdar
Mumbai: Famous actor of Bollywood and Marathi cinema Achyut Potdar has passed away. He breathed his last at Jupiter Hospital in Thane at the age of 91. He was struggling with health problems for some time. He was suddenly admitted to the hospital in a state of unconsciousness, where his condition worsened. The news of his death has created a wave of mourning in the film industry.
Steps in the world of acting
Achyut Potdar was an artist who never allowed his dreams to bow down to age. Before appearing in films, he served the country as an officer in the Indian Army. Subsequently, he did a long job in Indian Oil, but his dream of acting was always alive in his mind. At the age of 44, he stepped into the acting world and gradually won the hearts of everyone with his acting.

He acted in more than 125 films, including ‘Tezaab’, ‘Parinda’, ‘Dilwale’, ‘Damini’, ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’, ‘Parineeta’, ‘Ferrari Ki Rawa’, ‘Dabangg 2’, and ‘3 Idiots’. The character of a professor he played in ‘3 Idiots’ was small, but he was very impressive. One of his famous dialogues – ‘Hey Kehna Kya Hant Hain’ remains a topic of discussion on social media even today.
Contribution to TV and theater
Achut Potdar was not limited to films only, but also performed well in TV serials like ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’, ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’, and ‘Shubh Mangal Savdhan’. In the theater too, he worked with artists like Satyadev Dubey, Vijaya Mehta, and Sulabha Deshpande.
Funeral information
His death has been confirmed by his daughter Anuradha Parskar. His last rites will be performed in Thane on Tuesday evening.
