AUS vs SA 1st ODI Toss Result Today
Samira Vishwas | August 19, 2025 2:24 PM CST

Overview:

South Africa’s senior pacer Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the series.

Australia captain Mitchell Marsh has won the toss and elected to bowl first against South Africa in the first ODI of the three-match series.

We are bowling first because of the dew factor: Mitchell Marsh

Marsh was concerned about the dew factor. “We will bowl first in the match. Dew could play a part, and that’s the main reason. No expectations from the players. It is the start of the series, and there is another chance of winning a game for Australia,” Mitchell Marsh said.

South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma would have bowled first as well. “We would have bowled first, as the stats suggest. We have to perform with the bat. Dewald Brevis is making his debut, and we hope he continues to perform for us. We will play according to the conditions, and if the conditions demand it, we will play aggressive cricket like T20Is,” Temba Bavuma said. The Proteas have suffered a major blow in the form of Kagiso Rabada, who has been ruled out of the series.
