
News India Live, Digital Desk: Asia Cup 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Team India today for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which saw a lot of curiosity among cricket lovers and experts. Selection Committee chief Ajit Agarkar and T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav announced the last fifteen -member team in Mumbai. The tournament will be played in the T20I format from 9 to 28 September in the United Arab Emirates. Suryakumar Yadav, who recently rehabited at the National Cricket Academy by recovering from hernia surgery, is fully ready to lead the team after confirming his fitness. The selectors had to take a big decision on Shubman Gill’s selection, as he was also being under consideration for the role of a vice-captain. According to reports, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer did not get a place in the Asia Cup team, players like Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma have been strong contenders for top order, who have performed well in T20I. Veteran fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is scheduled to return, although his workload management will be taken into consideration, especially given the upcoming T20 World Cup. Hardik Pandya, Akshar Patel, and spin bowlers Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakraborty will also be an important part of the team. Legendary players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have already retired from T20 international cricket, indicating the beginning of a new era. The Indian team will start their campaign against the UAE on 10 September, after which there will be a much -awaited contest against the arch -rivals Pakistan on 14 September. The selectors were specifically to choose the second wicketkeeper-batsman, in which one of the Dhruv Jurael or Jitesh Sharma could get a chance.
