Former Vice Chancellor of Shakuntala Mishra University, Prof. Nishith Rai dies, funeral will be held in Baikunth Dham

Lucknow. Professor of Lucknow University and former Vice Chancellor of Shakuntala Mishra University, Prof. Nishith Rai died accidentally on Monday night. He was ill for some time. Pro. Nishith Rai was originally a teacher of the Department of Ancient Indian History at Lucknow University. For the last several years, Prof. Rai was holding responsibility for the post of Director of Regional City and Environmental Studies Center Lucknow. His daughter Shachi Rai is working in the Indian Administrative Service, a teacher and son in the Department of Economics, Lucknow University.

Pro. Rai Mau was a native of the Gram Sabha, Majwara in the district. He was also the founder of the Daily News Activist Newspaper. His younger brother and former Minister of State Utpal Rai said that his body will be kept at his private residence in Sarojini Naidu, Lucknow by 1 pm for his last darshan. After this, the last rites will be performed at Baikunth Dham Bhainsa Kund by law.

Social activist and journalist Divyendu Rai told that Prof. Rai played an important role in raising the standard of living of hundreds of people. He gave employment to the people and provided all possible help. He believed that evil is only when someone helps someone. There is a wave of mourning in the area due to his death. Many people including former BJP district president Durgvijay Rai, Vipin Rai, Suraj Rai and Rampravesh Rai have expressed condolences. There is also a situation of mourning in his native village Majhwara.
