
Mahindra Nu IQ Platform: Mahindra is moving to the end of an era with its compact SUV 3xo, based on the Sangyong Tivoli platform. The company is now preparing to bring the new generation SUVs on NU_IQ modular platforms from 2027 as part of its new global strategy. This step is further strengthening Mahindra in the Indian and global market.
3xo: End of a great journey
Mahindra 3xo, which was launched in 2024 as an advanced version of the XUV300, has been part of the company’s compact SUV range on the basis of Sangyong Tivoli for the past decade. The platform gave Mahindra a strong hold in the sub-4-meter SUV segment, but now the company is moving completely indigenous and towards the future prepared platform. Vision.X, displayed at an event recently, is being seen as the next avatar of 3xo.
NU_IQ: Strong Future Base
At the Freedom Nu event held in Mumbai, Mahindra revealed her new NU_IQ modular platform. The platform supports petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrain, as well as the front-wheel-drive (FWD), all-wheel-drive (AWD), left-hand and right-hand drive. Its lightweight monocock architecture offers magnificent SUV designs, flat-floor second row, best boot space in class and best safety standards. In addition, NU_IQ includes Nu_ux Digital Architecture, which will give user experience inspired by science-fiction.
Performing four magnificent concept SUVs
The company demonstrated four attractive concept SUVs – Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.SXT and Vision.X – which Mahindra India Design Studios (MIDS) and Mahindra Advanced Design have developed together by Europe (Made). These concepts reflect Mahindra’s new HeartCore design Philosophy, which combines strong and authentic looks with futuristic style.
New round will start from 2027
The production of NU_IQ based SUVs will begin from 2027, with Mahindra’s compact and mid-size SUVs to be fully shifted to the new global platform. With this change, 3xo will be completely free from Sangyong technology.
Globally towards identity
This change reflects the ambition of Mahindra, in which the company is moving beyond old cooperation and is taking steps towards becoming a world -class manufacturer with a completely indigenous, versatile and global competitive SUVs.
