
New Delhi: The revamped US Open mixed doubles has become the talk of the town ahead of the singles. The bold move by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) has received mixed reactions, with the superstars set to grace the courts.
Five-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz has teamed up with 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu, capturing the most attention, while Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner, Iga Swiatek, and Venus Williams are other stars who will bring more eyeballs to the event.
The event will be the curtain-raiser to the US Open and will be completed in just two days. The matches will be played on Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium. The event will feature a total of 16 participants, with the top eight based on combined singles rankings and eight wildcard pairings.

What is the format?Over the two days, sixteen pairs will compete in four rounds of competition. The scoring system will feature best-of-three sets played to four games, with no advantage scoring, and 10-point match tie-breaks instead of a third set if necessary.
The final will be the same, but the game sets will be six, not four.
