Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will not be part of the coming three-match T20I series versus the Netherlands following a leave from the national team to spend time with his ailing wife. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday stated that the 28-year-old has been given leave from August 20 to September 4, which means he will be out of action for the series which starts later this month in Sylhet.
The Netherlands series is viewed as being part of the squad's preparations for the Asia Cup 2025, commencing on September 9 in the UAE. The series against the Netherlands is expected to be important for the testing of the squad and experimenting with combinations.
Here is what a BCB official told as quoted by Cricbuzz:
"Mehidy took leave from August 20 to September 4 to be with his wife, as she is not keeping well. As a result, he is not flying to Sylhet for the skill camp ahead of the series against the Netherlands,"

Miraz was a member of Bangladesh's fitness camp in Dhaka, which was organized to prepare players for the Netherlands T20Is as well as the Asia Cup. He last played for Bangladesh in their T20I home series against Pakistan.
But with the team traveling to Sylhet on Tuesday night for a skill-based preparation camp, Bangladesh will have to adjust fast in his absence. The final team for the series has not been announced yet and his replacement is as yet unknown.
Simultaneously, the Netherlands team is likely to reach Bangladesh on August 26. The team will train for three days in Sylhet prior to the series. All three matches are to be held at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, with the first match being held on August 30, and the matches on September 1 and September 3.
