Tottenham are reportedly lining up a move for Monaco star Maghnes Akliouche as an alternative for Manchester City winger Savinho. Spurs have been tracking the 21-year-old Brazilian, who appears to have a fight on his hands to get game time at City this season.

However, their Premier League rivals are said to want £70million to let him go. That's despite him scoring just once last season following his £30.8m move from Troyes. The player was omitted from the squad for Saturday's 4-0 win at Wolves, although his absence was due to injury after limping out of a pre-season game with Palmero

According to the Independent, Monaco wants around £47.5m for Akloiuche, who was capped by France at under-21 level and represented his country at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He came through the ranks at the Ligue 1 club and has scored eight times in 44 senior appearances.

That included a goal in the club's season-opener with Le Havre on the weekend, which Monaco won 3-1. Critically, he's adept in both an attacking midfielder role and out wide, with Thomas Frank still looking for forward signings following the long-term injury to James Maddison.

In addition to that blow, South Korea forward Son-Heung Min left the club after a decade this month, joining Los Angeles FC. Furthermore, midfielder Dejan Kulusevski is still out after knee surgery.

The development comes as Tottenham make a major breakthrough with another transfer target. They have reached an agreement to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in a deal worth just over £60million.

Eze, 27, was expected to be left out of the Palace side to travel to Chelsea on Sunday, and yet started the game for the Eagles. His performance caught the eye, with a first-half free kick controversially ruled out after VAR intervention.

Eze's contract previously contained a £68m release clause, but manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed it expired last Friday. Spurs were reluctant to meet that fee, and have tabled a verbal offer for around £55m plus bonuses.
