Synopsis

Angelina Jolie is planning to leave Los Angeles once her youngest children turn 18, selling her Los Feliz estate. She admitted staying in L.A. was due to her divorce settlement with Brad Pitt. Joining a trend of celebrities moving overseas, Jolie seeks a new chapter abroad, while still pursuing acting projects like the spy thriller, The Initiative.

Hollywood icon Angelina Jolie is reportedly preparing to move out of the United States once her youngest children turn 18. According to People, the actress is considering “several locations abroad” as she looks to put her Los Angeles estate on the market.

Jolie bought the historic Cecil B. DeMille mansion in Los Feliz back in 2017 for a reported $24.5 million. The 11,000-square-foot property boasts six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, but sources suggest she is ready to let it go as part of her long-term relocation plans.

Why Jolie Stayed in Los Angeles

The actress has long hinted that living in Los Angeles was never her preference. In an earlier conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, she admitted she was based in the city only because of her divorce and custody arrangements with former husband Brad Pitt.

“I never wanted to live in L.A. full time,” she said. “That humanity I found across the world is not what I grew up with here.”

Now that Jolie and Pitt’s divorce was finalized in December, the actress is no longer tied to Los Angeles. She reportedly intends to move abroad once her youngest twins, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 next year. The former couple share six children in total.

Hollywood Stars Choosing Life Abroad

Jolie’s potential move follows a growing trend of U.S. celebrities settling overseas. Jimmy Kimmel recently obtained Italian citizenship, while Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi relocated to the English countryside in the Cotswolds. Earlier this year, Rosie O’Donnell confirmed her move to Ireland, and actor Richard Gere announced plans to live in Spain.

Jolie’s Next Big Project

On the professional front, Jolie is set to reunite with Doug Liman, the director of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The two will collaborate on his upcoming spy thriller The Initiative, marking another exciting chapter in her career.
