Create instant bedtime stories and comics with Google Gemini’s Storybook AI- The Week

Google has added a new feature to its Gemini app, and it’s all about making stories. It’s called Storybook, and it lets you take a simple idea and turn it into a colourful bedtime story or comic.

It’s very easy to use. You just have to type in a fun idea like “a monkey who wants to jump on the moon” or “a monster that paints your house,” and Gemini will turn it into a ten-page story with pictures. If your language is supported, it can even read the story out loud to you.

Storybook works on both Android and iOS through the Gemini app. You don’t need to be a writer or an artist. What you need is an idea, and then choose from different art styles like watercolour, comic book, claymation, or pixel art, and Gemini will do the rest for you. You can make a few edits if you like, then save or share the story.

In an official blog post, Google said: “Simply describe any story you can imagine, and Gemini generates a unique 10-page book with custom art and audio.”

For parents, kids, and anyone who loves playful stories

It’s clearly made for people who enjoy playful storytelling. Parents can use it to create something special at bedtime. You can even upload a child’s drawing or an old photo, and Gemini will build a story around it. It’s a nice way to turn a small moment into something memorable.

Right now, Storybook only works in English, but more languages are on the way. Officially, it’s meant for people aged 18 and over—though many are already using it to make stories for their kids. Like most AI tools, it’s not perfect. Some pictures might look a bit odd or slightly off. But most of the time, the results are good, especially when the story is something fun or heartfelt.

Reminder that imagination still matters

Most tech updates these days focus on helping us do more, faster. But this one is different—it’s here just for the fun of it. It’s not about getting things done; it’s about letting your mind wander. And in a world full of noise and endless scrolling, that feels like a welcome pause. Sometimes, all it takes is a small idea. And now, you don’t even need paper and crayons to bring it to life.
