
Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh credits the strength of her relationship with her husband Jean Todt, former CEO of Ferrari, to a simple principle: “Every day should be a celebration.”

“We’ve been together for 21 years, and we’ve been married for two,” Yeoh, 63, told People magazine. “Why wait for a special day?”
The actress also praised Todt’s unwavering support for her demanding career.
“I love my work. This is my passion. He never turns around and says you spend too much time away from me, which I sometimes do, but he’s very understanding,” she said.
Known for his romantic gestures, Todt celebrates their love in numbers, according to Yeoh.
“He doesn’t count by years. He tells me we’ve been together 7,000-[something] days,” she shared. “And if I really ask, he’ll even give me hours and minutes.”
The couple first met in 2004 in Shanghai, got engaged a month later, and tied the knot in two ceremonies in 2023—one in Switzerland and a second in Yeoh’s hometown of Ipoh, Malaysia.
Yeoh was born in Perak to a Malaysian Chinese family. As reported by The Straits Timesher father was a transportation tycoon before his death in 2014. She first gained recognition after winning Miss Malaysia World in 1983. She represented Malaysia at the Miss World pageant in London, placing 18th.
Her acting career began with a television commercial alongside Hong Kong star Jackie Chan, before she rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s starring in Hong Kong action and martial arts films, performing her own stunts.
Todt, 79, is a French motor racing executive and former rally co-driver. He has held leadership roles including director of Peugeot Talbot Sport, principal of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team, and CEO of Ferrari from 2004 to 2008.
