
Vice Presidential Candidate B. Sudarshan Reddy: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge recently among the leaders of opposition parties in the central room of Parliament. Sudarshan Reddy was declared a joint candidate for the post of Vice President. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and many top leaders of opposition parties were present on the occasion. Now today he will file his nomination.
Mallikarjun Kharge introduced Budarshan Reddy, the opposition alliance candidate for the post of Vice President, to the leaders of the constituents on Wednesday. Almost all the allies of India alliance including TMC, SP, NCP (SP), RJD, JMM, Shiv Sena UBT, DMK, Left parties were present in this meeting.
Reddy will enroll today
B Sudarshan Redndi will enroll at 11.30 am today. Many veterans including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, Priyanka Gandhi will be present on the occasion. 80 leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, can become a proposer.
Vice Presidential election is not a competition- Kharge
Mallikarjun Kharge said that this election is not just a competition for a post, but a battle of “soul and ideological struggle of the nation”. He alleged that the ruling party is advancing the ideology of the RSS, while the opposition considers the Constitution and its values to be guides. He said that there are serious threats on the integrity of democratic institutions and Parliament has become a tool for the opposition’s voice. Many bills are being passed without proper discussion.
Sanjay Raut told the opposition solidarity intact
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said that the solidarity of the opposition is completely intact and “Kauravas (NDA) are set to defeat with the presence of Sudarshan Reddy.” At the same time, Rahul Gandhi, referring to the visit of Bihar, described Sudarshan as a symbol of opposition unity.
The opposition alliance will organize a mock poll on 8 September so that all the MPs can get acquainted with the Vice Presidential election process. A strong protest was also registered in the meeting regarding the Constitution Amendment Bill. Opposition MPs said that by bringing such a bill at the end of the session, efforts are being made to weaken the roots of federalism and parliamentary democracy.
