Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho reality, Christopher Nkunku latest and Chelsea transfer plans
Football | August 22, 2025 3:39 AM CST

With less than a fortnight remaining of the 2025 summer transfer window, Chelsea's business behind the scenes is about to heat up even more. It has already been a busy window for the Blues, but with time running out before for the September 1 deadline, there is set to be even more incomings and outgoings at Stamford Bridge.

With Chelsea busy in the background, it is natural for supporters to become curious about what their beloved club is doing. With that said, Bobby Vincent - football.london's Chelsea correspondent - took time to answer your questions on Wednesday afternoon, and here is the full transcript from the Q&A session:

Q: When will there be news about Mykhailo Mudryk? When will this story finally end?

A: I wish that was a question I could answer. The truth is, none of us know at the moment. Hopefully sooner rather than later, as you say.

Q: Any update on Axel Disasi's situation?

A: Disasi has plenty of interest. There have been multiple Premier League clubs that have enquired this summer, but all have been over loan moves. Chelsea would rather sell Disasi. There is also interest from abroad as well, so it's one to watch before September 1.

Q: How close are Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson to leaving? Do they both need to depart in order for Chelsea to sign Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons?

A: Neither are too advanced. RB Leipzig have stepped up their interest in Nkunku in recent days. Bayern Munich have spoken to Chelsea but have not heard too much on that in the last 48 hours. Jackson has interest from everywhere it seems but Chelsea will not sell for cheap, so a deal there is complicated. And yes, it will certainly help re Garnacho and Simons - particularly the latter it seems.

Q: Are Bayern Munich still in for Nkunku or are Chelsea trying to sell him to another club instead?

A: As far as I know, Bayern are still in the race, yes. RB Leipzig are very interested in re-signing Nkunku as well.

Q: What is happening with Tyrique George? Is he likely to leave if Garnacho and Simons both join?

A: Yeah, I can definitely envisage that. George wants to play regular football and if they both join, it does block his pathway even more. There are numerous clubs keeping an eye on his situation as it could be one that opens up in the future.

Q: Does Wesley Fofana's Instagram activity have anything to do with his Chelsea future?

A: Nope. I'm told it is simply a re-organisation of his account.

Q: Will Simons and Garnacho (if they are signed) be the last signings of the transfer window for Chelsea?

A: At this very moment in time - and things can change in football, as we all know - I would expect that to be the case. It does not seem like a centre-back will be signed even though Enzo Maresca has made his feelings on the situation very clear.

Q: Have Chelsea ever tried for Julian Alvarez? To me, he seems like the perfect striker for Maresca...

A: Personally, I have never heard anything in Alvarez and Chelsea. I agree, he is a very, very good player. The club will certainly be aware of that but nothing to suggest anything otherwise from my side.

Q: Any update on Alfie Gilchrist, David Datro Fofana and Aaron Anselmino?

A: Gilchrist has plenty of Championship clubs interested in his signature. Chelsea open to letting him leave and at a modest price, too. Player keen to move on as he doesn't see future at Stamford Bridge.

On Fofana, I'm not too sure what is next for him. He will be looking to leave and Chelsea will have no qualms in letting him do so, however I am not aware of any interest - that is not to say there isn't any.

Chelsea were considering loaning Anselmino to Strasbourg earlier in the summer, but there are three Blues players there now. Nothing has been suggested that their plan to loan him out has changed at all, even with the injury to Levi Colwill.
