NPCI may soon launch UPI 3.0. loT (Internet of Things) will be used under UPI 3.0. loT means that all the smart devices present in your home will become eligible for payment. Now you will not need a smartphone for payment.
Under this new feature, you will also get the option of UPI Autopay and UPI Circle.
Under this, the smart devices present in your home will be able to make payments even in your absence. The TV, fridge, washing machine, car and smart watch present in the house will all complete the payment smartly.
When can UPI 3.0 be launched?
If media reports are to be believed, UPI 3.0 can be announced by October at the Global Fintech Fest 2025. However, there has been no official confirmation about this. Under this, users can also set a limit on transactions taking place in other smart devices.
