Former Manchester United star Brandon Williams has insisted he has "learned from his mistakes" following his suspended jail sentence for a car crash at 99mph as he looks to rebuild his once promising career at Hull City.
Williams was involved in the collision in August 2023 and was charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance, pleading guilty to both charges.
He was disqualified from driving last year and handed a 14-month jail term earlier this summer, which was suspended for two years.
Williams, now 24, has not played since December 2023 during a loan spell with Ipswich Town and was released by boyhood club United last year.
But now Hull have given Williams a chance to bounce back by giving him a one-year deal and he is eager to make amends - admitting he was "not in a good place".

"It was in the moment I was in, I wasn't in a good place," he told BBC Radio Humberside. "It's a big regret and I've learned from my mistakes. I was still a young boy and I'm grown up now. My focus is back on football and that's all I want to do now.
"I took action to step away from the game but I feel like I managed it well. I was working in silence. Everyone was questioning what I was doing but I was working the whole time. I was keeping fit and making sure I was ready to step back into football. It was always the aim."
Williams said he had "honest" meetings with Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic about what it would take to get him back to full fitness after so long out of the game as he opened up on his struggles away while taking a break from football.

"I had a couple of very honest meetings with the manager," he added. "We know it's going to be a process to get fully back up to speed, having that time out. I appreciated the manager's honesty. Now, it's down to me to work hard and get as many games as I can.
"It was very difficult (taking a break from football) – mentally and physically. It's been a long road back, but probably something I needed. Now, I'm back here a different person.
"I've grown up a lot and I'm ready to just focus on the football. I've missed it. I'm hungry, I'm fiery. I know what quality I can bring to the team. As soon as I get back to that, I'm sure I'll be an asset to the team.
"Now, I've got to show it to the fans and my teammates to prove I'm here to work hard and help the team get results."
Williams joined United as a seven-year-old and went on to play 51 times for the Red Devils and was initially loaned to Norwich - where he played 26 times in the Premier League in 2021-22. But he had less success with Ipswich in the Championship in 2022 before his legal troubles began.
