Bihar Sir Case: The Supreme Court has given a big verdict on the voter list dispute in Bihar. All 12 political parties have been instructed to help the voters, making the party. The court questioned the inactivity of the BLA and asked for transparency.
Bihar Voter List Controversy: A big news has come from New Delhi. The Supreme Court has given an important order in the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) case in Bihar. The court has made all the 12 political parties of the state parties in this process. Also, he has been instructed to help voters, especially those whose names have been dropped from the voter list.
'Only two objections were filed'
During the hearing, a bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi expressed surprise that in a large state like Bihar, where more than 1.68 lakh booth-level agents (BLAS) are deployed, the Election Commission has so far filed only two objections. The court said that despite being such a large number of agents, such less cooperation raises serious questions.
'Appeal to play active role in SIR process'
During the hearing in the Supreme Court, the Election Commission appealed to political parties to play an active role in the SIR process. Subsequently, the court ordered the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar to issue notice to the presidents of all political parties. Political parties have been asked to instruct their BLA to help voters to fill the documents and form necessary to get their names added to the name.
Booth -wise list uploaded of 65 lakh people
The Election Commission told the court that its instructions have been followed. The booth -wise list of about 65 lakh people who have not been included in the draft voter list have been uploaded on the website of the Commission. The Commission has also clarified that due to non -inclusion of names, online is also available. Complete information has also been given at the district level.
The responsibility assigned to political parties
This matter is also important because the controversy over the voter list before the next Bihar assembly elections is getting deeper. Earlier, the Supreme Court had made it clear to the Election Commission that the 65 lakh people whose names have not been included in the list will have to make the complete information public. Now the Supreme Court has directly assigned the responsibility to political parties and asked to cooperate in ensuring the rights of voters.
