Aadhaar card and mobile number now mandatory
Since 1 July 2025, the government has implemented a new rule for PAN card. Now it will be necessary to give Aadhaar card to make a new PAN card. Not only this, mobile number linked to Aadhaar is also mandatory. The verification process will be completed through this mobile number. If you do not have a mobile number link in your base, first go to UIDAI’s website or nearest Aadhaar center and get it updated. Your PAN card will not be issued without this process.
It is necessary to link old PAN card to Aadhaar
If your PAN card is made before 1 July 2025 and has not yet been linked to Aadhaar, then you have to link it by 31 December 2025. If you do not do so, your PAN card will become inactive. Inactive PAN cards will not be used to file banking, investment or income tax returns. This can prevent many of your essential financial procedures.
