Unique initiative of Delhi Municipal Corporation: Special train started to reduce mosquitoes terror in the capital, start with NDLS

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has started a unique Parl to deal with mosquitoes flourishing during the rainy season. The MCD has run a special train in collaboration with Northern Railway, which will kill mosquitoes. This will help eliminate diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya. This will not just a train, but will prove to be a shield to protect the health of Delhiites.

To deal with the mosquito and its diseases, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi started a ‘Moscito Terminator Train’ from New Delhi railway station on Monday in collaboration with Northern Railway. Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh flagged off the train. This train has a special truck installed on the railway wagon, in which a power sprayer is installed on railway tracks to leave anti-larger chemical. With this, chemical will be sprayed within a radius of 50-60 meters on both sides of the tracks. It also includes those parts, where it is difficult to reach.

Mayor Singh said that due to rain, water often accumulates around the railway tracks, causing mosquito breeding. Spraying of chemical on a large scale with mosquito terminator train will help eliminate diseases such as dengue, malaria and chikungunya. It is not just a train, but a shield to protect the health of Delhiites.

MCD Commissioner Ashwini Kumar said that this joint campaign is an important public health initiative aimed at providing relief to millions of residents. Kumar said that the Municipal Corporation is running cleanliness and mosquito eradication campaign as a mission. However, this campaign will be successful only when all people participate in it. People should ensure that water does not accumulate in and around their homes. They have to cooperate in the efforts of the corporation.

The Commissioner said that this campaign, which runs till September, is expected to help a lot in control of mosquito -borne diseases in the city. He said that this year the number of dengue cases has been very less than last year. Senior officials including Additional Commissioner Pankaj Naresh Aggarwal, Public Health Officer Ashok Rawat and representatives of Northern Railway and MCD were present on the occasion.
