Star cricketer Rinku Singh is all set to get married to MP Priya Saroj in November 2025. The duo will be tying the knots in a grand celebration, set to be held in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh. Ahead of the grand event, Rinku has invited Bollywood superstar and Kolkata Knight Riders' owner Shah Rukh Khan for his wedding, and wants the latter to attend and bless the couple to-be.
Notably, Rinku got engaged to Priya in a gala event earlier this year. The Aligarh-born cricketer revealed that he had invited Shah Rukh to his engagement ceremony as well, but the latter could not mark his presence due to some shooting commitments elsewhere. However, Venky Mysore, the KKR chief executive officer, was present at the ceremony, Rinku said.
Rinku named in Asia Cup squad“I had a chat with Shah Rukh Sir before my engagement and even invited him. But he couldn’t make it as he was busy with some shooting. Our CEO, Venky (Mysore) sir, was there. I have invited Shah Rukh Sir to my wedding as well. Let’s see if he comes," the 27-year-old told News24.
Speaking of Rinku's cricketing assignments, the left-handed batter has been named in India's 15-member squad for the upcoming Men's T20 Asia Cup 2025. The tournament is set to begin on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates, and Rinku is set to play a crucial role in India's middle-order. He boasts an average of 42.00 in T20 internationals, and the Indian team will be hoping to get useful contributions from his end to their benefit.
The southpaw, however, may not find a direct place in the Playing XI, as the squad is packed with star power and names that equally deserve a spot in the side. He will be getting a tough competition from Shivam Dube, Axar Patel and the likes in the lower-middle order, as the Men in Blue begin their campaign against the UAE on September 10 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
India squad for Asia Cup: Suryakumar Yadav (captain), Shubman Gill (vice-captain), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, and Varun Chakravarthy
