Lucknow: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who returned from the space travel, was given a rousing welcome at Choudhury Charan Singh International Airport today on his maiden arrival. UP Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak along with Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal and others welcomed the Lucknow boy for achieving a milestone for the country.



Along with his parents and family members, hundred of people and school children of Lucknow were present at the airport to welcome him with tricolour in the hands.



There is a festive atmosphere in his locality Triveni Nagar. Posters of 'Shubhanshu - National Hero' are put up all around the city of Lucknow. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said that, "Today is a big day for Lucknow. The son of India, the son of Lucknow has set foot in Lucknow. Ever since he returned to earth from space, the people of Lucknow were eagerly waiting for his arrival. Today finally that moment has come. We welcome Shubhanshu Shukla with warmth and love".

Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has left the airport and was expected to go to the guest house before going to CMS Gomti Nagar Extension for a felicitation programme. In the afternoon Shubhanshu Shukla will meet CM Yogi Adityanath and will later join a felicitation programmee of the UP government at Lok Bhawan.
