The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that rainfall is anticipated throughout the country in the upcoming days, with several states likely to experience continued showers. The monsoon season has intensified, promising wet weather for residents in various regions. According to the IMD's daily weather report, many areas are expected to see rain on Tuesday, August 26.
Alert Issued for Northern Regions
An orange to red alert has been activated for moderate to heavy rainfall in Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and the northern coastal region of Andhra Pradesh for the next three hours (6-9 am).
Current Weather Influences
The monsoon trough is currently positioned over Bikaner, Jaipur, Datia, Banda, Ranchi, Digha, and extends southeast towards the northeast Bay of Bengal. Additionally, an upper cyclonic circulation over southern Haryana and adjacent northeastern Rajasthan, along with a Western Disturbance over Jammu and nearby areas, is expected to affect the weather conditions.
Rainfall Alerts for Various States
The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall for Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Punjab, and Rajasthan. Furthermore, heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and West Madhya Pradesh.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 km/h) are likely in Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Telangana. Areas in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and Sikkim will also experience thunderstorms with lightning on Tuesday.
Forecast for Southern India
The IMD forecasts heavy rainfall for Kerala and Coastal Andhra Pradesh from August 26 to 29, while Coastal Karnataka is expected to see heavy rain until August 30. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana will also experience significant rainfall until August 27.
Weather Outlook for Delhi
Delhi has been experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall since last week. The IMD's forecast for the capital today indicates a rainy day with a generally overcast sky. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 30-32 degrees Celsius, with active monsoon conditions likely to persist over the next five days.
