
New Income Tax Act 2025: Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) Member RN Parbat recently told the media that the rules and guidelines related to the new Income Tax Act 2025 will be issued by December 31 this year.
This means that taxpayers will soon be able to understand all the necessary information related to tax under the new law. This update regarding the new rules is indicating to simplify the tax system for taxpayers.
Provision related to digital data safety
Taxpayers often worry about the safety of digital information, but CBDT has completely made it clear that data privacy will be taken care of in the new rules. The CBDT member said that the old income tax law also had provisions related to the safety of digital data, and now they will be written in more clear words. Whenever the tax department has to search, seize or survey, these provisions will apply.
New faq and sop will be built
The CBDT department is preparing questions (FAQ) and Standard Operations Process (SOP) about the new Income Tax Act. Its purpose is to help taxpayers understand the new rules and simplify the everyday tax process. In this notice guidelines, the difference between old tax rules and new rules will also be told, so that there is no confusion. How to handle digital data in SOP will also be described in detail.
Return filing method will be even easier
The CBDT member said that the return for FY 2025-26 next year will be filled according to the old rules. The rules of the new Income Tax Act will be applicable from FY 2026-27. He also said that the department now wants to make such forms which are more smart, so that taxpayers are easy in tax filing. Also, the language of the form will also be simple and uniform, so that the taxpayers do not get any confusion. CBDT also stated that they are working on such technology and team, which will make tax for taxpayers even more simple and convenient.
