Ganesh Chaturthi 2025: Do Ganpati establishment in the house, know scriptural worship method and auspicious time

Ganesh Chaturthi 2025 Sthapana, Puja Vidhi: The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the fourth date of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. It is known as the birth anniversary of Vighnaharta Ganesha. In the scriptures, Ganapati has been called the first revered and the giver of Siddhi-intelligence. That is why Bappa is established on this day and worship is done methodically for 10 days. It is believed that the devotee who establishes Ganapati by following the right Muhurta and rules, all disturbances are removed from his life and there is a habitat of happiness and prosperity in the house.

Chaturthi Tithi Starts: 26 August 2025, Tuesday afternoon at 1:54 pm

Chaturthi Tithi ends: 27 August 2025, Wednesday afternoon at 3:44 pm

According to the scriptures and almanacs, the main festival of Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated on 27 August 2025, because on that day both sunrise and rise date will remain.

The main (midday) Muhurta of Ganapati establishment:

27 August 2025, 11:05 am to 1:40 pm

This time is considered to be the most auspicious for the installation and worship of Ganpati statue.

Ganpati statue installation method (as per scripture)

According to Ganesh Purana and Vastu Shastra, Ganpati should be established in the north-east direction of the house. The place is mandatory to be clean and pure.

Posture

Lay a red or yellow cloth seat on a wooden post. The red color is a symbol of Mars and yellow intellect. Install Ganpati statue on top of it.

Kalash installation

Keep a water filled with water in front of the outpost. Add betel nut, coin and intact to it. Keep mango or Ashoka leaves above and keep coconut and cover the urn. It is a symbol of Mars and perfection.

Call and decoration of statue

Decorate the Ganpati statue with flowers, clothes and garlands. Then chant God by chanting

Singhwahanay Sumukhaya Ganadhipataye Namah.

Panchopachar

Offer smell, akshat, flower, incense, lamp and naivedya.

Durva and Modak Arpan

According to Ganesh Purana, it is mandatory to offer 21 Durva and 21 Modak to Ganesha. The obstacles are destroyed from Durva and modak is considered a symbol of joy.

Aarti and chanting

Perform Aarti of Ganpati with family. The recitation of Vakratund Mahakaya Mantra and Ganapati Atharvashirsha is considered to be particularly fruitful.

Special rules and precautions for installation

Take a bath before installation and wear pure clothes.

Do not keep the statue facing the door.

Light a lamp of ghee at the time of worship, sesame oil is forbidden.

Chandra darshan is prohibited on Ganesh Chaturthi. According to the scriptures, seeing the moon on that day gives a false defect. If you see it for mistake, then read the "Syamantak Mani Katha".

After the establishment of Ganpati, perform worship, enjoyment and aarti daily till immersion.

According to Skanda Purana and Ganesh Purana, the deities blessed Ganesha that any auspicious work will begin with his worship. Therefore, the importance of establishment of Ganpati in the house on Ganesh Chaturthi increases even more.
