Swifties went wild yesterday afternoon when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced they were engaged. Millions around the world rushed to congratulate them, including several well-known celebrities, such as Avril Lavigne, Patrick Mahomes and Gordon Ramsay.

The news became such a worldwide sensation that it 'broke' Instagram due to the sheer number of people liking and sharing Taylor and Travis' announcement post on the social media platform, which caused it to 'crash'. So far, the post, which shows five gorgeous photos of the pair celebrating in a rose-filled garden, has 27.4 million likes, and counting.

The caption reads: "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married." Congratulations flooded in for the pair from every corner of the internet. Even the famous chef Gordon Ramsay joined in on the celebration. Ramsay shared a picture of himself congratulating Kelce at Super Bowl LVII, where the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the Philadelphia Eagles to claim the NFL championship in 2023 (for the 2022 season).

In a six-word message, he said: "From one ring to the next," followed by a ring emoji. He then went on to add: "Congrats @killatrav & @taylorswift! From your favourite Home Ec Teacher, Gx".

It didn't take long for the comment section on Gordon's post to flood with messages. One person asked: "Hell’s Kitchen engagement party?" A second joked: "I want to go to this school."

A third said: "This engagement is SO hot that even Gordon Ramsay had to find a way to get in on it. I respect that." A fourth put: "Who’s catering the wedding?" The official Hell's Kitchen account even said: "We know the best spot for a bachelor & bachelorette party."

Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes shared the post on his Instagram story, accompanied by three hearts, while his wife Brittany also shared the post, with a comment that read: “Two of the most genuine people meet and fall in love. Just so happy for these two.”

Singer Avril Lavigne, who has previously performed on stage with Swift, also sent “huge congratulations” to the singer and Kelce in a post on her Instagram story. The Kansas City Chiefs also congratulated the couple in a post on X, which read: “Today is a fairytale. “Congrats to Travis and Taylor – we’re excited to have you as a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family.”

The NFL’s official Instagram account also congratulated the pair twice. First, sharing a video compilation of Swift attending games with the words “what a journey”, while another post showed a clip of the pair celebrating Kelce’s 2024 Super Bowl win.
