How to Check CBSE School Affiliation: Whenever parents think of getting their child admitted, the first question that comes up is whether the school is recognized by CBSE, the State Board, or not. Many times, people assume that the school is affiliated with CBSE just by hearing the name, but the reality can be something else. In such a situation, it is very important to check it.

Strict CBSE rules
CBSE rules clearly state that if any school violates their guidelines, its recognition can be canceled at any time. Therefore, parents are advised to check the recognition of the school before getting their children admitted.

Check by name or location.
If you know the name of the school, then choose the keyword-wise option and search by entering the name or location of the school. You can even check the CBSE recognition of the school by writing the location of the post office. After searching, you will get a list of all CBSE-recognized schools related to that location.

For how long is the recognition? The recognition (affiliation) of CBSE schools is no longer permanent, but it is usually given for five years. After this, schools have to reapply and get the recognition renewed. This rule was implemented from the 2019-20 session, so that all new and old schools maintain their quality standards from time to time.

For renewal of recognition, schools have to send a detailed report to CBSE based on information such as their building, security system, infrastructure, student-teacher ratio, laboratories, playground, co-curricular activities, and the results of students.

When the inspection report is found satisfactory by the board, CBSE first issues a 'Letter of Intent'. Only after this is the school provided official affiliation.

How to check whether the school is recognized by CBSE or not?

First of all, go to the official website of CBSE https://saras.cbse.gov.in/saras.

There, you will see the option of “List of Affiliated Schools”; click on it.

Now you can search for schools in many ways, such as –

By entering the name or location of the school (keyword-wise)

By entering the Affiliation Number of the school

By state (State-wise) or region (Region-wise)

By school level-wise

Or you can also check if the school is Disaffiliated/Closed.
