Mahindra is working on plenty of models as we speak, one of them being the facelifted XUV700. The midsize SUV made its debut in 2021 and is yet to receive its first major update. Test mules of the XUV700 have been spotted on a number of occasions in the past few months. The Tata Safari rival has been caught on camera once again ahead of its imminent launch. The latest spy images reveal clearer visuals on the SUV and the changes expected.
Mahindra XUV700 facelift: Updated Exterior
Like the previous test mules, the latest spy shots reveal a fullycamouflaged prototype but they reveal some crucial details on the XUV700’s updated design. The upcoming XUV700 will feature redesigned LED headlamp clusters with new daytime running lights (DRLs), replacing the current circular headlights with sharper rectangular units.
The grille has been extensively updated with additional slats, while the bumper’s lower lip now incorporates a sleeker air dam. The rear end of the SUV shows a sharkfin antenna, a rear spoiler, a rear washer and wiper, and a redesigned bumper. Beyond these changes, the overall design remains largely consistent with the existing model. More importantly, the latest spy images also reveal a fresh set of alloy wheels.
Mahindra XUV700 facelift: Updated Interiors & Features
Previous spy images have suggested much more significant changes inside the cabin of the new XUV700 instead of its exterior. For instance, it will borrow the triple screen layout similar from the Mahindra XEV 9e. This also means much more advanced features on offer in the upcoming iteration of the XUV700. The spy images also point at an autodimming internal rear view mirror which was a glaring miss in the current XUV700.
A key feature upgrade will be the new 16speaker Harmon Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos again borrowed from its batterypowered cousin. Another notable update is the steering wheel, which is expected to feature an illuminated Mahindra Twin Peaks logo, while the control buttons are likely to remain unchanged.
Mahindra XUV700 facelift: Expected Powertrain
The updated XUV700 is not expected to undergo mechanical changes and will continue with the existing powertrains—a 2.0litre mStallion turbopetrol and a 2.2litre mHawk diesel. Both engines will be available with either a 6speed manual or a 6speed torqueconverter automatic gearbox, while the topspec diesel automatic variant will retain the allwheeldrive option.
