Pregnant IT in Bengaluru found hanging from Shilpa Shund! Did the in -laws' dowry demands force this step? Husband Praveen arrested, the truth behind death is still unresolved. Investigation continues, the mystery is increasing.
Bengaluru pregnant it woman suicide: Shilpa, a pregnant IT professional woman in Bengaluru, was found hanging in her house. The family alleged that Shilpa took this step due to dowry harassment and in -laws' constant demands. The police have arrested Shilpa's husband Praveen for abetment to suicide. Shilpa previously worked in IT veteran Infosys. She was married two and a half years before Praveen. The couple has one and a half year old child and Shilpa was pregnant again. The family said that even after marriage, Shilpa continued to demand pressure and dowry. This incident once again highlights the serious problem of dowry harassment in the society after the incident of Greater Noida's Nikki dowry murder.
Demand for dowry and economic pressure
Shilpa's parents lodged a complaint with the police and said that Praveen's family had demanded Rs 15 lakh cash, 150 grams of gold jewelry and household items before marriage. The family fulfilled these demands, yet after marriage, the demands for money and valuables continued. Shilpa's uncle Chennabasayya said, "We married her with pomp two and a half years ago. We sold our house and spent 40 lakh rupees on the wedding. At the time of marriage, she also gave her 160 grams of gold jewels. But even after marriage, the demands continued." A few months ago, Shilpa took Rs 10 lakh more from her family. The family says that for the last two years, Shilpa had to sell water under compulsion.
Suspicious circumstances of death
The conditions of Shilpa's death are also very mysterious. Uncle said that there was no chair or other thing under the fan inside the house, and the fan was at such a height that no one could easily touch it. There were no sabotage marks even at the door. All these circumstances raise questions for the police and make the matter more suspenseful.
Increasing incidents of dowry harassment
The incident took place after the death of 26 -year -old Nikki Bhati of Greater Noida, where the victim was allegedly set on fire when the dowry demand was not met. The police have sent the victim's husband and in -laws there to judicial custody for 14 days. Bangalore police have arrested Shilpa's husband Praveen. The case is under investigation. The police is confirming whether it is actually a case of dowry harassment or any other secret is hidden in it.
