Renowned Pakistani musician and actor Azaan Sami Khan is currently receiving praise for his powerful performance as Farhad in the ongoing drama Main manto nahi hoon. The multi-talented artist, known for hit songs like I lamha, Worship, Hand Teraand Ae dilas well as successful dramas such as Ishq-e-La, Hum donoand Meri Tanhairecently appeared on Rabia Mughni’s YouTube show where he candidly addressed the controversial student-teacher dynamic portrayed in his latest drama.

In the interview, Azaan shared a personal anecdote, admitting, “I had a massive crush on my teacher when I was in school. I used to attend all her classes and always sat in the front row. I think most boys can relate to this.” His light-hearted confession quickly transitioned into a more serious discussion about the storyline involving Mehmal and Manto in Main manto nahi hoon.

Addressing the debate around whether the bond between Mehmal and Manto is romantic or not, Azaan clarified, “I don’t think it’s clear that what they share is love. It’s too early to pass judgment. From what I’ve seen of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s script, certain parts are deliberately kept ambiguous, so we don’t fully know yet.”

He emphasized that conclusions should not be drawn prematurely and encouraged audiences to assess the story holistically as it unfolds. “This particular question should really be answered by the makers, because they know best,” Azaan said. “From my perspective, there hasn’t been anything that definitively shows it’s love.”

Further elaborating on his character, Azaan remarked, “Yes, Manto is a sweet, soft, and kind person, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s in love. He might just be too kind—or even afraid—to refuse her. There has to be a reason.”

Expressing his trust in the creative team behind the show, he added, “I trust Nadeem Baig’s moral compass. If the script does lean in that direction, I believe he will handle it with sensitivity and balance.”

Summing up the situation, Azaan noted, “It doesn’t really come across as love. It seems more like a girl who is simply infatuated with her teacher.”

The actor’s thoughtful response has sparked discussions among fans, adding depth to the ongoing narrative of Main manto nahi hoon.
