
Arrest of Wanted Criminal in Paper Leak Scandal
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police has successfully captured a fugitive wanted in connection with multiple paper leak incidents in the state. This arrest took place in Odisha, as confirmed by officials on Friday.
According to Additional Director General (SOG) V.K. Singh, the accused, Vinod Kumar Rewad, who has a bounty of ₹50,000 on his head, was apprehended. He hails from Dungri Kala in Jaipur district.
Rewad was wanted in several cases related to the 2021 Sub-Inspector recruitment exam, as well as cases concerning the Senior Teacher Grade-II and School Lecturer Grade-I paper leaks.
A court had issued an arrest warrant against him, and a reward of ₹50,000 was announced for information leading to his capture. The SOG team managed to track him down and arrested him today in Daspalla, Nayagarh district of Odisha.
To conceal his true identity, the accused was working for a contractor involved in railway bridge construction, filling vehicles with diesel. The local court has remanded him to police custody until September 4.
