Hero Xoom 160 sales commence in India: The wait is over

Hero MotoCorp, after a series of delays, has commenced the sale of the Xoom 160 maxiscooter in India. The new Hero Xoom 160 takes on a rival in the segment that started the new segment in India – Yamaha Aerox 155 – and also marks the debut of a new liquidcooled engine in a scooter for the automaker.

In an official statement, Hero MotoCorp said, “Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, today announced the sales commencement of its muchawaited Xoom 160 across markets in India. Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Show earlier this year, Xoom 160 instantly captured the imagination of young riders and emerged as one of the most anticipated launches – ushering a new era of ‘Super Scooters’.

Crafted with power, precision and a bold design, Xoom 160 is built to reimagine everyday rides. With unmatched performance and control that go beyond a conventional scooter, this versatile ‘Super Scooter’ is designed to dominate city rides, conquer challenging terrains and transform everyday commute into adventure.

Engineered with advanced technology, distinctive design and a commanding presence on the road, Xoom 160 is meant for every rider who seeks not just mobility but a ride that’s truly liberating.

Hero Xoom 160: Specifications and features

The Xoom 160 is the first madeinIndia maxiscooter and is powered by a 156cc, liquidcooled singlecylinder engine that makes 14.6 bhp and 14 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. On the equipment front, the Hero Xoom 160 gets telescopic forks, dual rear shocks, a disc brake at the front, a drum brake at the rear, and rides on 14inch wheels. The scooter tips the scales at 142 kg.

The Xoom 160 gets a digital instrument cluster, keyless ignition, remote boot opening function, and a singlechannel ABS. The Hero Xoom 160 is priced at Rs 1.48 lakh, exshowroom.
