Former Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin appears to have smoothly transitioned into his life after football. The 35-year-old Frenchman had a successful 19-year career, playing for Premier League clubs such as Southampton, Everton and the Red Devils.

Schneiderlin kicked off his professional career with his hometown club Strasbourg before making a move to Southampton in 2008, where he stayed for seven years. His impressive performances in the English top-flight didn't go unnoticed by the Premier League's top clubs, leading to a £24million transfer to Manchester United in 2015.

This career-defining move came with a substantial pay rise, earning him a hefty £100,000-a-week contract. Despite the eye-watering figures of his new deal, his wife, Camille Sold, also contributed financially to their relationship. Upon moving to Manchester, the couple lived at the luxurious Lowry Hotel, while Camille worked on the shop floor of the city centre's Adidas store.

The couple has been together for over 10 years, with their love story beginning in early 2015. Schneiderlin popped the question to the former shop assistant during a holiday to the French Riviera in 2016, and they tied the knot the following year.

The Frenchman, who hung up his boots in 2024, departed England in 2020 following a three-year spell at Goodison Park. He subsequently played for clubs including Nice, Western Sydney Wanderers, Konyaspor and A. E. Kifisia.

After bringing the curtain down on his playing days, Schneiderlin, according to his Instagram profile, is currently working towards his UEFA A licence, the most advanced practical coaching qualification on offer. He has also branched out into broadcasting as an analyst for Canal+ Sport.

His athletic pursuits haven't disappeared entirely as he has embraced distance running with his wife and recently crossed the finish line at his maiden marathon during April's Paris Marathon. While Schneiderlin went on to sample life across three different nations following his Old Trafford exit, he subsequently confessed that he cut short his Manchester tenure too hastily.

"I learned a lot from my departure from Manchester United," he revealed to L'Equipe in 2022. "I had played 40 matches the previous season with Manchester. When I come back from the Euros, I take 10 days off and I play very little for three, four months.

"Then, I have Ronald Koeman and Everton who are pushing hard to get me, every day, from October. I will remember it all my life: I should have played against Liverpool, starter, and the coach (Mourinho) comes to see me. He tells me he doesn't feel me inside the group. I tell him that indeed, with what has happened in the last three months, I am not in it and I want to go to Everton. I regretted it very quickly.

"Even if it went very well at Everton, when you play for Manchester United, when you're at a club like that, it's not for a moment of doubt that you have to question everything. Look at Ander Herrera: the first year I arrived, he was on the bench; he persevered, and today he is at PSG."
