Synopsis

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards celebrated television excellence at the Peacock Theater, with "Severance" leading nominations. Rogen's multiple wins broke records, while "Adolescence" triumphed in the limited series category. Hosted by Nate Bargatze, the ceremony recognized numerous winners, but there were many top celebrities who went home empty-handed, failing to secure an award despite their nominations.

The 77th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, held at Los Angeles' Peacock Theater on Sunday, September 14, 2025, saw a massive number of winners across categories, and many TV shows like Severance and Adolescence even went on to break records. Severance led the way with 27 nominations heading into the ceremony. The series was followed by The Penguin with 24 nods and The Studio nabbing 23 nominations.

Rogen won for acting, directing and writing. Along with nine wins claimed at last weekend's Creative Arts Emmys, it broke a record set last year by “The Bear” with 11. Netflix’s acclaimed “Adolescence,” the story of a 13-year-old in Britain accused of a killing, won four Emmys in the limited series categories.

But the Emmy Award ceremony, which was hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, also saw a bunch of top celebrities who failed to leave an impact and left without an award
