Before big festivals like Dussehra, Deepawali and Chhath, there has been a great news for about 40,000 teachers of Bihar. The Education Department has issued clear instructions that the outstanding salary of employed teachers, special teachers, head teachers and newly appointed principals should be taken immediately to their accounts. This news is enough to bring a smile on the face of teachers, who were upset for a long time waiting for salary.
Relief got after a long wait
Many teachers were not getting salary even after joining, which was increasing their problems. Now Dinesh Kumar, Secretary, Department of Education, has given strict instructions by sending letters to all District Education Officers (DEO) and District Program Officers (Establishment). He has asked to complete the salary payment process within a week. This order is no less than a gift for those teachers who have been facing financial crisis for months.
Rapid work on HRMS portal
There will be no significant problem in salary payment for the principals and principal teachers whose PRAN number is already present and the process of onboarding on the HRMS portal. Officers will only have to “activate” their data from “inactive” to the new post. The department has given clear instructions to complete this process as soon as possible.
Challenge before new promoted teachers
A new PRAN number will have to be created for some teachers who were previously employed and have now reached the post of Principal Teacher or Principal. After this, their onboarding process on the HRMS portal will be completed. The Secretary of the Education Department has also ordered to settle this work in a week with priority, so that no teacher is deprived of salary.
Data Missamach and Technical Problems
The biggest reason for delay in salary payment has been technical flaws. Certificates, Aadhaar, PAN and bank details of many teachers have not been uploaded on the e-education portal. Apart from this, onboarding on HRMS portal was also being interrupted due to data in date of birth and mobile number. To overcome these problems, work has started fast now.
Lack of operators remained hindrance
Lack of computer operators in district education offices has also been a major reason for delay in pay payment. Due to lack of proper monitoring, teachers had to wait for their salary for months. Now after the new order of the department, it is expected that the arrears and regular salary of all the teachers will reach their accounts before the festivals.
1300 teachers of Muzaffarpur also benefited
According to departmental data, this order will provide relief to about 6,000 new teachers, 5,000 principals and 29,000 head teachers in the entire Bihar. Of these, about 1,300 teachers are from Muzaffarpur district alone. This order will not only increase the beauty of festivals in teachers’ homes, but will also help reduce long -running protests and dissatisfaction.
