
In a development that could provide a major boost to Indias medical technology sector a leading US firm is planning to build a giant Research and Development (R&D) campus in tech-hub Bengaluru. According to an official release Stryker Corporation a Michigan-based medical technology company will establish a 140000 square-foot R&D facility in Whitefield Bengaluru to expand its R&D presence in India. What will Strykers R&D facility in Bengaluru do? The new state-of-the-art facility will bring together cross-functional teams and industry-leading lab infrastructure uniquely blending next-generation capabilities in robotics artificial intelligence (AI) digital innovation and product security the release said adding that the facility aims to build on Strykers existing 220000 square-foot R&D campus in Gurugram Haryana. According to the company the new facility will be complemented by a medical experience center and deepen collaboration with healthcare professionals by showcasing solutions that help save lives and improve patient care including ICU beds stretchers ambulance cots and hospital and public-access AEDs (automated external defibrillators). The advanced labs will allow us to work closely with healthcare professionals unlock valuable insights and accelerate innovation.
