Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has finally shared a concrete update on his long-discussed dream project, Mahabharat. The actor revealed that preparations for the film have already begun internally, with the scripting process scheduled to start within the next two months.
Speaking to Komal Nahta on Game Changers, Aamir described the epic as not just another cinematic venture but a spiritual journey. “This is the most important project of my life. My work has already started from within. It’s like a yagna for me,” he said, underlining the massive scale and creative depth of the film.
The actor, who has been toying with the idea of adapting the Indian epic for decades, expressed confidence that if everything falls into place, filming could begin later this year.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Aamir has chosen to push back another high-profile project — a biopic on cinema pioneer Dadasaheb Phalke. The film was supposed to reunite him with director Rajkumar Hirani after their iconic collaborations on 3 Idiots and PK. However, the project is said to be on hold as Aamir has reportedly requested Hirani to rework the script.
With Mahabharat finally moving forward, fans are now eager to see how Aamir Khan brings one of India’s greatest epics to the bigscreen.
